Sa Rutta

Sa Rutta is an ancient and magical place located in the vicinity of Villaputzu, a small village located on the south-east coast of Sardinia. Its name is Sardinian and means “the cave” and it is from this special place that we give life to our eco-tourism project, Sa Rutta Experience.

Choosing Sa Rutta Experience, in fact, means choosing to experience places totally immersed in nature, places whose original appearance remains unscathed. We have built everything you will find here with our own hands, but without changing anything at all. Because we have always loved Sa Rutta just as it is and we want to keep it that way.
That’s why we want you to discover it too.

Even today we lose ourselves in the sound of the water that flows undisturbed and the immense clearings that protect this place.

From Sa Rutta Experience you can reach wonderful destinations, enjoy breathtaking views and visit magical spots (let’s not forget that we are the land of the Janas).

Su Strumpu De Pardis

Pardis’s waterfall is one of the many potential geosites present in the Salto di Quirra, within the territory of Villaputzu. It is a travertine waterfall about 30 metres high, which can be crossed through a large cave formed in contact between the palaeozoic base and the Eocene sandstone banks.

Città Di Roccia – Pranu Trebini

The area is located in the south of the Salto di Quirra plateau and overlooks the mining village of Baccu Locci. Pranu Trebini extends for about 0.4 square kilometres and is characterised by calcareous and arenaceous tabular forms. This place features a great variety of different shapes resulting from the selective erosive action of atmospheric agents on different types of rock. The site is characterised by a deep and narrow valley of high scenic and landscape value, where unique morphologies such as arches, spires, cornices and “cities of rock” succeed one another. These shapes are interspersed with panoramic points on the deep canyons of the Rio Baccu Locci and large caves, until a few decades ago used by local shepherds. The formation environment is marine, as evidenced by the numerous findings of fossil organisms.
